FAQ

Q. Do you charge by the hour?

A. Short answer: Yes. Long answer: I always look at the full scope of a project before I create a quote. I take many factors into consideration, like the complexity of the work, how long it will take to complete, how it will be used once finalized, and the length of time it will be implemented. Each of these will affect the final outcome on a quote.

Q. Do you ever take pro bono work?

A. It depends. I will never say “never.” But, as a rule, I do believe that creative individuals should be compensated fairly and monetarily for their work. Good design is worth paying for, no matter your budget.

Q. I don’t see what I’m looking for shown in your portfolio. What then?

A. Don’t worry! I haven’t listed all my work in my portfolio, and there’s still a chance I can help you with your project. If you don’t see a particular design, style, application, or something else in my portfolio, reach out to me with your details. I would love to talk with you!

Q. Why is there no phone number listed?

A. In the age of technological bombardment, I have to draw boundaries, my friends. I prefer email over all other communication simply because it helps to streamline tasks and provides the opportunity for good work-life balance, but, if we work together, chances are I will call you and hopefully meet you in person, if possible! I love talking with clients face-to-face.

Q. What is your favorite font?

A. People always ask me this. I’ve been told that it’s bad for a designer to have a favorite font, but I think that implies that they’re going to use it all the time, which is not the case. In fact, I use it less, only for special things, because it is special to me. Hence, it’s this font, the one you’re reading: Adobe Garamond. The italic is my favorite. Using it on my personal site was an obvious choice, because I like it, and this is special.
