AMBER RIKARD

-

From the time I began to draw, to the day when someone sat over my shoulder and taught me the basics of Adobe InDesign in a high school journalism class, and up to today, I have loved and appreciated my gift for “creativity with rules.”

Over the past 15+ years, I have enjoyed designing for print, web, and social media. My primary focus has been the non-profit arena. I worked as a full-time staff member of a large, internationally-oriented church in Atlanta, expanding and freshening its branding, marketing, communication, and events for women. Following that, I worked for a statewide bar association structured very like a nonprofit. I learned how to take a little and make it a lot.

I would be honored to work with you on your next project. Contact me to begin!

Amber lives in East Point with her husband, Seth, and their son, Peter.

Whether I’m designing, editing, lettering, or simply doodling, I look for joy. And I always find it.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

-

Creativity with rules means that I enjoy being innovative, fresh, new, and truly creative, but I also like staying within the rules of good design. Granted, these rules will often change with the times, as culture redefines what’s trendy and what “works,” but, if it’s design done well, it will appeal to the eye, the mind, and the heart.

If you’re like me, you weren’t born with a knowledge of good design—most aren’t! Someone took the time to teach me the basics, and I learned the rest myself over time. The thing is, the key to communicating a message, branding a new business, or marketing a product is, naturally, good design! That’s where a designer (like me) can help.

Don’t think you need high-quality, innovative, rule-following design? Think again. You definitely do. Your audience will notice, and it will make a positive difference.

DON'T SEE IT HERE?

-

If you don’t see a particular type of design, application, or project shown in my portfolio, don’t panic! It doesn’t mean that I can’t help.

Please reach out to me to talk about your project. From there, I can steer you in the right direction. If it’s something that I cannot do, I probably can point you to someone awesome, reliable, and reasonably-priced who can help. We in the creative world tend to keep in touch with one another!

One way or another, I’d love to help you get where you want to go.
